Painting Organic Pumpkins Is The Way To Go

10/16/2020

Autumnal decorating a big deal in the King household, let me tell you. Normally, my kids just get in the way so I have the nannies take them out for a few hours while the design team does their thing, but there is one exception to this rule.

It has become an annual tradition for Jostipher, Chamomile, Jaxxxon and Divi to each paint a pumpkin (or ten, since they need to produce at least one "social media-worthy" option and I'm not sure if you know this already but young children are pretty terrible artists).

They aren't permitted to carve pumpkins, due to the possible questionable origins of this practice, but they so enjoy creating Christianity-themed works of art instead. It's not at all repressive or stressful.

However, we aren't going to let our precious little ones taint their bodies with chemicals, which is why we fly to my family's personal estate to select pumpkins from one of our vast organic orchards. Do the same, if you can. If that isn't possible for you, well, you probably shouldn't have had children in the first place. #KidsComeFirst

We also instruct the kiddies to use hand-made vegetable paste, instead of regular paint.
